Hello all.
An email has been sent today to the following participants in the current Odin's Opposition Competition as follows;
Hello Lindi, Cailean, Grace, Chris, Liz, John, Carol and Sylvia!
Thank you so much for your entry/entries into our Odin's Cash & Chapbook Competition as of today!
The staff of Mosaic Musings has been discussing a revamping of our current Odin's Opposition Cash and Chapbook Competition. The reasoning behind this recommended change is in part, due to the recognition that our Mosaic Musings Members are more focused on the stimulation of exchanging ideas and crits and not so much on the competitive aspects of writing.
Since the current Odin's competition has been active now for more than 18 months with only 40% of the required entries received to date, we feel a change is needed. Given that we have only received $50 thus far towards the current competition, we would like to close Odin's now, judge the entries and award reduced cash prizes of: First Prize ~ $25 and our Nomadic or Assyrian package (25 books) MMP Chapbook Publication Contract, Second Prize ~ $15 and Third Prize ~ Free Chapbook of their choice from the MM Bookstore.
Do you agree with these changes?
The proposal we have put together for the New and Improved Odin is as follows; [*]Make it a free contest (one entry per person per competition). [*]Run it quarterly. [*]The prizes would no longer include a cash payout. - 1st Prize: Digital Web Book (content pages cannot exceed 50 pages) and 50% discount on a chapbook contract of their choosing from our 8 package options.
- 2nd Prize: 2 chapbooks of winners choice from MM Bookstore and 25% discount on any package chapbook contract.
- 3rd Prize: 1 chapbook of winners choice from MM Bookstore and 10% discount on any package chapbook contract.
- Merit Prize (2 winners): 1 chapbook of winners choice from MM Bookstore.
There will be no expiration date for the winners chapbook contracts.
I look forward to your response! Lori
Cheers! ~Cleo :pharoah:

Thank you, all of you, for the award ! I've been reading (again) the other entries and find that they're all wonderful. All of them, award or no award !!!
Congrats Liz, for Stargazer, it's a very special poem, so mystical, spiritual and romantic. I've already said so elsewhere (I'm always in the wrong forum... :turtle:, you'll see my reply in Grendel's), but here it goes again. I love poems about impossible love, the unattainable and all that !! I especially like the way you've made it kind of mysterious, since perhaps her lover is dead, but on the other hand, perhaps it's a clandestine affair that she can only dream about, here in this "cruel" world... Poignant, my !! :)
Congrats again, and many thanks to the rest of you for my award, even though it's about a personal, real sorrow that any amount of awards won't heal. Nonetheless, it gives me a warm feeling that this poem dedicated to Patrick has been appreciated by others. I'm sure he's pleased too.
Love to all, Sylvia :sun:
