since it's to be given
out of concern for others
rather than hoarded for yourself;
it is an act of satisfying

but are mostly used
at the end of some words,
hardly ever at the start
which makes it very difficult
to use when I begin a nonet

are more acts of revenge
plotting to end your next piece
with something very difficult
to copy or remanufacture

suffix
to form nouns
from what were verbs
showing conditions,
results, facts of or acts;
much like “ing” makes gerunds
when added to the ends of words
“ure” trying to make so difficult.

of our own endless silliness

lots of fish
when they’re deployed
after much planning
in deep enough waters
but if the bait fish aren’t there
which the larger fish feed upon
your dinner plans have a lot of holes

unconsciously
gathered together
often with a purpose
yet other times for nothing
but filling in the empty space -
like we to a lot at this Crossing

to soul’s grand
intense aura
situated in
faith and love that you build
in your heart to quell the storm;
express an angel’s persona
dispersing praise through life with a hymn

are beyond me
so I'll be mundane
if that won't put you off;
lately I've barely had time
to write, so I've not responded
to many of our usual forms

for practice
to improve skills
not competitions
so I am not bothered
but am inspired by answers,
however mundane, in replies
which have kept me going all this time.

seems to
fly these days
watching grandkids
and working with son
helping to put our house
back together piece by piece;
yesterday we worked on ceiling
above the stairs; it was over my head

are parts of a puzzle
but the most satisfying
is the laughter of grandchildren
and family that make it a home

unless they are yours
then the sounds that are made
consist of fire and brimstone
which will curl your first coat of paint
unless you’re proficient in Latin.

the sheet metal
making it simple
to shape it as you like;
when you want particular
shapes you can follow a pattern
like cutting with a pair of scissors

unison
will steer your boat
in a nice straight line
but if you have just one
you switch side to side and veer
or sit in back of the boat and
use a rudder to go with the flow
