BOTTOM DRAWER

Cleaning up after dogs is the core
that defines hate for friends, footed, four
pleading eyes and a whine
that go on, all the time's
why I won't have them come in the door

We have one that's allowed in the house
but she really belongs to my spouse.
A small sheltie for sheep;
we have none... but I keep
my mouth shut. To have peace, I don't grouse!

When power leads man toward arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the areas of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of his existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy

Kindness is a seed sown by the gentlest hand, growing care's flowers.

A' WRESTED

It is just as well you do not grouse
as you potter all around the house
for it's not your domain
wife wrested from you her gain
you know whether you're man, or a mouse

A louse or a mouse or a man?
I tell ya, prepare a good plan.
It depends on the missus,
if she kisses or hisses,
bring chocolates – vanilla pecan.

Chocolates may be brought as a gift
for occasions or to mend a rift
caused by macho display;
"I'm a man" you might say
but there's no love tonight if she's miffed.

LOL !

PASSION, KILLER

Bring chocolates with pecans, if intent
is to arouse normally latent
(dead) passion in a wife
inject semblance of life
deep investment too soon to be spent

Deep investment may not be the game
if chocolates won’t kindle the flame
and the missus stays miffed
over some bunny gift
you had bought her for Easter. A shame!

"It's a shame!" said the miser who bought
all his candy on sale. He had thought
it was cheaper to pay
after the holiday.
With cream-egg on his face, he was caught.

With a smile on his face he was caught
cuz he'd eaten more eggs than he ought
he was banged up by rights
for more than one nights
lucky t'wasn't the bucket he bought

No, it wasn't the bucket he kicked;
at the Easter egg hunt he was licked
by his grandsons who got
more sweets than they ought --
but with his help -- and many hand-picked.

ADDLED

Eggs were hand-picked, and hand-painted
by mums and aunts til they feinted
then ignored by the kids
soon to be on the skids
with chocolate addition teinted

Alan, sometimes you're losing the beat
of the THREE PULSES, THREE, with repeat
after two lines pulse TWO,
then you're through...
and your strange use of 'feint' is not meet!

If, with an epee I choose to faint
you justifiably think it quaint
as I stretch for a word
struggle towards the absurd
good grammarian surely I ain't

Only the US rhymes aunts with pants
it as a nation completely enchants

but I doubt that you'll ever recant

Garblimey, me stiff upper lip
is getting a bit of a whip

and I thought we was pals.
Tell THAT to those guys on the ship!

Tell this to those guys on Ma Earth ship
climate change is merely a small blip
on the radar of life
not worth too much strife
and NOT worth a psychedelic trip

ingest psychedelic and trip...
and especially if it's not scrip;
you will not want to go
where the light is aglow;
be prepared to be caught in its grip

Be prepared to be caught in the grip
of a person who's wearing a slip
remember, t'was your choice
to scream - in a high voice
you're embarked on discovery trip

Alluvion Delusion?

Do you think my discovery's a lark?
Don't you see that I've peeled off my bark
to disclose what's inside?
I no longer will hide
that I stowed away on the ark.
