In utter cacophony, her mind struggles between rueful degradation and reckless greed.
Cimmerian nights call unrestrained lust, exposing hours of unshielded attachment leaving her haggard heart frigid.
Filthy paper souvenirs sustain a damaged body as she spirals loathsomely; her shameful tears lull her to sleep.
Heartbreaking years accumulate; her open door policy abruptly closes, overexposed, she dies untouched by true love.

Wow Aphrodite! :sun: :lovie:
This is truly a piece for our Garden here.
I find myself drawn into her lonely world with so few words. Your selection of words and images really captures her plea.
Nicely done and congrats for being the first post in this forum!
You've added a tile to our Mosaic in style!
Cheers! :pharoah2 Miss Cleo :pharoah:

QUOTE (Zeus˛ @ Aug. 15 2003, 09:40) Lindi, after reading this wonderful piece, a thought came to mind, a metaphor to be exact, "live by the sword, die by the sword". A poignant write. Like your new avatar too. Z2.....Larry Hi Daddy~ (hee, hee)
Thanks, Zeus for stopping by to read and comment on this piece. I couldn't agree with you more, as far as your quote goes."Live by the sword, die by the sword".
Amen, my friend.
Your daughter in history~
In love~ Aphrodite

Fully enjoyed reading, more so after reading the good people responding. I have not experienced such constructive sharing with people I enjoy relating with. Translation: very good to be here and all the better as I may join you all.
Thanks for all your whim, Brahms

Hi, Lindi - I've not seen this poem before... it must have been one of the very first postings on MM?
Anyway, as fresh now as then and this line...
"her open door policy abruptly closes"
Brilliant. I hate cliches but I do so appreciate it when cliches are turned in on themselves to create something new - this is an excellent example.
Glad this re-surfaced.
James.
