Beguiled
Her eyes are green and flecked with gold, beneath a brow of ivory. Red hair a marvel to behold held in a silver filigree. High cheekbones and dimpled chin dusted with freckles here and there. She has a most engaging grin, I’ve seldom seen a maid more fair. Such was her lissom loveliness that she enraptured every male who gazed upon her comeliness. Alas alack they yearned in vain. A portrait painted long ago still stole the heart of every beau. 24-Jun-06

She must have been very beautiful to steal the heart of every man from a canvas. *smiles* For some reason, this has an old-world feel to it and I like that. You have painted a lovely portrait. Thanks for sharing it.

Dear Ivor,
Since the damsels of the world don't seem to be similarly by male "beauty" (or at least I've never seen one giving me the eye), we should consider whether it's a blessing or curse. Not being an object of art does allow us guys to postpone that shave or even arrange that tattoo! In line 12 you might find an alternative to "vain" in "fail". Cheers, Ron jgd ······· ······· |
