Heyyyyyy Snow!

LOVE your poem!  Do you live in Australia?  South Africa?  I'm sweltering here in intense summer heat and you're writing about beautiful spring!   huh.gif

However, the poem is lovely and lyrical.  I love meter and rhyme .. just wish I could write it better.

Thanks for being the first poster in this forum!  Lovely way to begin.

Blessings,

I have recently revised this as `Earth's Ovation'

Earth’s Ovation

Now birds wing home to chirrup sweet refrains
arousing earth from sleep, while she abstains
from frigid life, in winter’s drowsy pause;
their springtime song precedes the land’s applause.

The daffodils careen on graceful stems,
their verdant sleeves adorned with moistened gems.
They blow their amber trumpets, raised erect
to herald Spring’s arrival. She’s bedecked
with luscious colours; meadow flowers sweep
across the ground, where creatures wake from sleep.
Old twigs expand to burst their dormant buds,
as sun disperses warmth through winter’s blood.

The vibrant chorus echoes through the breeze;
a vernal scene is set with expertise.

Earth awakes

As birds fly swiftly home to warble songs,
all nature stirs to life once more and longs
to shake off winter’s cold and sleepy break;
Springtime is here at last and earth’s awake.

On swaying slender stems, exquisite leaves
become the golden daffodils’ green sleeves.
Their yellow trumpets raise to sweetly sing
and boldly herald birth of verdant spring.

Twigs new and old burst out their dormant buds,
while creatures stir awake as nature floods
to greet the earth with life, refreshed from sleep;
bright meadow flowers rise and shyly peep.

Warm sun shines through a softly blowing breeze
as nature sets the scene with expertise.
