My little town in Ohio is where Shawnees and other Indian tribes signed treaty with General (Mad) Anthony Wayne to open up white settlement into northwest territory which is now western Ohio and eastern Indiana.  

Tecumseh and his brother--both Shawnees--established Prophets Town where Greenville, Ohio is located.  Also site of Wayne's training fort.  Also site of treaty signing, which Tecumseh and his rebels refused to sign.

Tecumseh was a very insightful war chief for a lost cause to which he gave his last full measure. Other well know chiefs, such as Little Turtle, saw the writing on the wall and caved in to save lives by agreeing to white man's treaty.
