BOOK TITLE CHALLENGE, Have a go!!! New!!! Options

Greetings to all poets and writers!

This time we challenge you to compose poems (all forms, as well as FV) or stories using the BOOK TITLES listed below.

As so many book titles begin with "the", you're allowed to tweak it off if you wish!

You must attempt to use at least 8 of the titles, but if you include all 14 you'll be a champion!

We haven't included the author's name, but they're all well known and have won various important prizes. In some cases, the titles are of their lesser works; one or two are novellas.
After joining in the challenge, we'll post a list of the authors, OK? You'll be surprised.

The Wake

After the ages of Gaia there rose
a tangled tale about the young king who
shipwrecked upon a small island. It goes,
“The selfish giant ocean claimed its due

by drowning pregnant queen but on a whim,
twin children, Sylvie and Bruno were born.
The God of small things had protected them
from music of the spheres; Gabriel’s horn.”

The English, patiently, toast in their pub
known as The Canterville; ghost of its past,
for it was once the kingdom’s castle hub
but rape of the fair country maid had cast

a pall. The blood of flowers… nevermore
as Angela’s ashes fell by the shore.
