Looking through photographs of the past I found a picture of her on the page, standing in the garden beneath pewter coloured clouds after summer storms had passed.
She had grace and charm dressed so elegantly, wearing pearl earrings and a pearl necklace – her ‘something old’ as she proudly displaying her wedding ring.
A touch of romance was in the air. Friend and family were all smiling and happy and birdsong surrounded us drifting in on sweet scented breezes fragranced by wattle and eucalyptus.
And today – forty years later she still has grace and charm. My lady is still beautiful – and I will replace those pearls with rubies.

Ah Maureen! I have really missed your poetry!
This is a truly romantic tale. Beautiful images all through. I felt I could see her, your descriptions were so vivid.
I hope we will see more of you - you have been missed!
