Pity this Intro has been removed. I visited Paul Dresser's website and downloaded his song "Tin Pan Alley". I liked it, so then I read all about what he's trying to do in the 'indie' poetry-music genre. Highly interesting...Especially Paul's visit to the museum!

A poem-song is written in a different way, perhaps that's why we think it strange, without punctuation and perhaps some repetitions and other figures we may not use in our regular poetry. I would like to learn more about all this.

The Lord replied, my precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.

"There is no life higher than the grasstops
Or the hearts of sheep, and the wind
Pours by like destiny, bending
Everything in one direction."

Sylvia Plath, Crossing the Water, Wuthering Heights.
