Hi! I'm Ellen from the east coast of Canada. Well at least that is where I have lived most of my adult life, but I was born and raised in Ontario. Writing has always been my passion and therapy for as long as I can remember. Even as a small child I tended to think in rhyme, so I lean toward rhyming poetry, but also write an occasional short stories. At one time I wished I had more time to write. Now, since an impaired driver put me in a wheelchair, I have lots of time to write, but not always the ability to sit or type much since my hands were badly broken and a more aggressive arthritis has set in. I hope you will get a chance to check out my poem "LUCKY???" Perhaps writing it is one of the reasons I am still alive against all odds. I wrote for therapy and hope it will make some people stop to think before they go out to drink.
Reading is great but I can't always type a comment at the time I first read something. Hopefully I will remember to go back to comment when my hands are more tolerable. So, please be patient with me if I seem slow at doing things around here. I look forward to getting to know the folks here.

Hello Ellen and WELCOME TO MM!
We've already just gotten acquainted in Plato's Pearls and it's always nice to see a referral pop by and post. As you are able, I look forward to reading your work, as I believe it will stimulate your muse and keep your mind sharp! We also offer weekly and monthly challenges here so if you are interested, I usually have a calendar event posted. I can let you know where on the forum (there's two forums, Pandora's Box and The Acropolis).
We offer honest, yet friendly feedback in our workshopping forums so I do hope you'll find yourself at home here, once you settle in. There are many members here with different skill levels and technique, which makes MM more comfortable, diverse and challenging if you become so inclined in your poetic journey.
There's so much to delve into, so please, wander our halls, take in our colorful 'tiles' and join in the fun. What type of poetry do you enjoy writing most and are there certain forms you often write in? Shall I assume the level of critique you would like to receive on your topics is 'light'?
Each forum has its own 'forum participation rules' posted in a link at the top of the forums, so please read them if you'd be so kind prior to posting: http://forums.mosaicmusings.net/index.php?showtopic=8574 .
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me or any of our staff (AMETHYST, Arnfinn, Eisa, JLY, ohsteve, Psyche and Imhotep).

You step into the Road, and if you don't keep your feet, there is no knowing where you might be swept off to." ~ J.R.R Tolkien, The Lord of the RingsCollaboration feeds innovation. In the spirit of workshopping, please revisit those threads you've critiqued to see if the author has incorporated your ideas, or requests further feedback from you.
