My mother died earlier today. It was the pneumonia that took her, as they just couldn’t get her lungs clear.
I am devastated. My one consolation is that now I won’t have to see her deteriorate further with her Alzheimer’s. The last time I saw her at the nursing home, we walked together and chatted – a memory I will always hold dear.
I know I don’t have to ask you to remember us in your thoughts and prayers.

Hi Snow

I'm so very sorry to read your sad news about your Mum's death.  My thoughts are with you at this very difficult time.  Hold onto the memories and get comfort from the knowledge that the last time you saw her in the nursing home, her mind was alert and you had a good visit.

Take care

Hugs to you

Nina

Dear Snow,

I'm so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing.  Such hard and sad times for you.  Yet.... I imagine you are a mixed bag of emotions right now.  Missing your Mom, grieving her passing, yet .. as you mentioned, not seeing her sink deeper into the well of Alzhiemers is a blessing for both you and her..

I understand your feelings all to well.  Although my mother didn't have Alzheimers, she was ill for 12 yrs. with a chronic, terminal disease.  She lived with us for the last 4 yrs. of her illness and passed in my arms.

You will miss your Mother for ever.  I still think of my Mom daily. Yet, am grateful for everything she taught me.  I still remember some of my baby time, and the love she gave me throughout her life.  I know you will remember these things about your mother too.  Our parents teach us to be strong, to love each other and to prepare for their's and our own passing.

Keep her love, all the happy memories, and all of her life lessons in your heart.  They are her essence and her legacy for you.  She loved you, and wanted the best for you.  Carry and pass on this legacy.

Bless you and know that my prayers are for you at this time.

Love,
Chris

Hi Eisa,

I am very sorry to hear that you Mother has died.

As you say, at least it means she will not suffer further - which offers some comfort to you amid your sorrow.

I am gladdened that you do have those happy memories to think about - I hope they give you strength in the quieter times ahead.

I shall think of you.

Best wishes, James.

Snow, in these difficult days seek peace and remember the love. You have done so much for your mother, and that must have made her days so much more fulfilled. The only constant in life is change, and i'm sure all here send their thoughts for your strength to face the future with a calm mind.

Hi Everyone

Thank you all for your tremendous support at this time. Your friendship means so much to me.
I am over the shock, but am on a roller coaster of emotions. My youngest son is home now, which is a comfort. This is the first Xmas we have spent without seeing my mother -- it will be strange, but as someone told me, we must celebrate her life. She lived for 84 years and will be remembered for her kindness and sense of humour.

If I'm not around I wish you all a Happy Christmas.

That nobleness made simple as a fire,
With beauty like a tightened bow, a kind
That is not natural in an age like this,
Being high and solitary and most stern?
Why, what could she have done, being what she is?
Was there another Troy for her to burn?"
