Hi Daniel - there was a problem with the server this morning (after 3:30am that I alerted Peter to after spending more than 4 hours myself trying to rectify it. I could not post new topics, reply, edit or send PM's an I was really upset about it!
In the end, he restarted the web server and that seemed to fix the issues. He's got a few core dumps to dredge through to try and debug exactly what happened see what locked it up, but from what he can see the little program that actually processes the request when you click "post" crashed and wasn't accepting any new requests, which spiraled into not being able to send PM's and post replies as well. Restarting the web server appears to have woken it back up.
