Sundial
One luminary clock shall mark the time when all the woods are lovely and the Spring which had that flowered meadow’s grasses lime is in the past. Now Summer’s sun will bring
its heat to wash the steps which we will take. Cloud’s solace and the shade of trees will do until, bent in the undergrowth, we slake our thirst from toil. Frightened, a small bird flew
from where its nest was hidden in the leaves. She’d waited there for all the errant seeds from planting Fall’s new crop. Tall drying sheaves will feed her brood when Winter intercedes.
Each year, there’s nothing gold can stay or save what’s passed. Some say the world is just time’s slave.

When power leads man toward arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the areas of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of his existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

Oh my! Larry, this is so lovely, smooth and visual!
It still manages to have a 'Frostesque' feel to it even though this is most definitely a "Larry" original.
It is so beautiful - I will be back to read again! ~Cleo

Hello Merlin,
Sorry, I should have listed the snippets given and the ones I used but didn't. Here are the snippets:
The woods are lovely bent in the undergrowth One luminary clock had that flower and the shade of trees Where your face burns and tickles our place among the infinities To wash the steps Some say the world Of the great harvest A small bird flew Nothing gold can stay
I'll let you pick out where they were used.
If they are in your garden and you feel they're an infestation, I think a large pair of scissors will help you snippet off.
Larry
