Apologies for all you foreigners whose election this is NOT, but it had to be said. Alan.
THE POWER OF THE COUNT
Tormented electorate : time to take revenge, tomorrow’s the day we can finally avenge many years of wrong-doing and being ignored. What’s at stake ? Dracula can be fatally gored, slowly to sink to his knees, keel over at last, his time of vampire-like blood-sucking now passed. Dismiss dour thoughts, our lives are about to un-bend, carry on with life, Count’s power is at an end. He’ll be defeated, by the power of the count as we the people with new courage will surmount thirteen years of - bad luck ? - no, deliberate aim, while we, with a true stake in our great home won’t claim “moral compass”, his myopic vision of truth, but an eye for an eye AND a tooth for a tooth !

Hi Alan,
Nice use of the given words to voice your discontent. I hope "HIS" open microphone comment they aired over here on various news shows comes back to bite him where it will hurt the most (his re-election). Back later for any nits & crits I encounter after a few reads.
Larry

Good reply. Ha,ha,ha. I wish you the best of luck my friend. Things could be worse. The 2010 Greek Revolution: their having a crack in Bastille terms. Government by the people. Trouble is storming the seat of government means, in French terms--sacre`bleu` Hmmm... Don't think God is interested. The pound's on your side, Alan. Your currency could have been Euro's. John

Hi Alan,
I agree with John: the pound seems to be in great shape compared to the euro!
When I read your poem just now, I realized your feelings are so similar to my own in connection to our poor excuse of a President over here.
Peggy
Hi again, Alan,
I just looked and found out that today is the election, not yesterday! Good luck!!!
Peggy

Dear John and Peggy,
Thanks for the responses.
Things don't look too good. Radio man just said "We never voted Brown IN, NOW we can't vote him out" !
May you live in interesting times" say the Chinese. But they mean it as a CURSE !

Hey Alan, You didn't have to vote him out - seems he resigned. You are now experiencing what we call over here a California power failure (A Brown-out). Maybe he saw your poem and realized what his constituents thought of him. Congrats, Larry

Dear Larry,
WWWWWAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEE !
We had all that late-night banging about watching TV to see the results, getting more and more excited/frustrated, with no full resolution.
Tonight we had that long overdue ejaculation !
Love Alan

Dear Eisa,
Thank you very much.
We got rid of him.
He resigned as Labour LEADER as well. One of the main contenders to replace his is called Balls. I'm not making this up ! Totally right name - that is all he talks.
Love Alan

Hi Alan, One of my very favourite NY Times columnists had an interesting column on the British "new collation" this morning. What do you think of it? I don't know if he's right, but I do think it sounds right and hopeful!!! http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/14/opinion/...l?th&emc=thPeggy

Dear Peggy,
Thanks for the link, I agree with his analysis. I have a dream it goes further, and destroys the socialist, big-state-spending, nannying bunch of mis- and distrustful bigots in Labour for ever.
We do need a strong opposition, but that will have to eventually be the LibDems, once G Brown's incredible spending/wasting mess has been sorted.
Love Alan
