SPRING BREAK

Lingering visions of bright singing blooms
rippling vividly, seen through pension room’s
open windows, are now quite spurious :
only Paris seen plasters my leg. I’m furious !

Alan,
The title threw me, I was expecting yet another homage to the season of Spring. I was pleasantly surprised.

Very succinct, but this doesn't need a lot of additional flourish. It's to the point.

I keep reading your last line over and over and that one just doesn't seem to hold up as well as the others, although it is the one that brings it all to a shattering conclusion. I have to ponder it some more.

I am wondering if the word "Paris" was the one key word that ignited your creative fire for the broken leg theme?

Dear John,

Ah, you know me so well ! Yes, I was determined to use that rather limiting word in as free a way as I could manage. In the end of course, I managed a double meaning.

Love
Alan
