To Christmas Given
Nick’las was a special lad Seldom grumpy, never bad Mindful of his Mom ‘n’ dad Glad to share what e’re he had He took delight in simple joys Jingling bells with tingling noise Or laughter’s ring from girls and boys Playing with their shiny toys So Nick’las hit upon a plan For joy and peace throughout the land He’d beseech the elvin clan For magic... and a helping hand The king of elves was good of heart Had magic mastered to an art Would gladly do his mystic part So Nick’las had his Christmas start But how to spread his special gifts O’er frozen lakes and icy cliffs He’d certainly need some way to lift And glide above the snowy drifts An angel who was hov’ring near Turned a caring, sharing ear Caused a cure to quick appear Sent a sleigh with flying deer! The elves and angels did the trick The sleigh was filled with gifts so quick All was ready for jolly Nick ‘for he could hardly shake a stick All was done with no complaint For Nick’s heart was never feint On loving canvass the world he’d paint So Nick became a living Saint And so aboard his sleigh he climbed Finally sure his reason rhymed Took the reins and joyfully chimed Dash-A-Way! It’s Christmas Time! ·······  ······· Values are to integrity as spirit to spirituality ... the one is needed that the other is sustained ~ Sam

This is so cute and delightful to read! You know this would make an excellent children's poem. My inner child is beaming brightly all over the place!
