BRAVEPART

If anything itches
while you’re in your britches
we’ve the thing that will make you right proud
it’s our even itchier kilt
made from, and for, the black sheep
who wants to stand out from the crowd ....

Oh no, no, no ...Alan this is marvelous. You can still pen a smile, followed by hearty laughter while maintaining a straightforward poetic voice. Loved this. I especially caught the duality of black sheep - such a great handle on humorous poetics ...

Hi Alan,

It is life. A little bit of this and a lot of that - but most certainly not for the lacking of loving friends and awesome poetry here. I am getting my feet wet again - and with the exception of next weekend (thursday - tuesday) I will try to put more of myself here again. Hopefully, I will be able to start writing again as well.

I fully agree - no need to be serious, especially when serious always seems to throw something in your way to remind us of it... LOL

This was one I most certainly found a most needed laugh / smile in and I miss that-

Alan; Alan; Alan... I told you ,don't let your dingle dangle, dangle in the dirt, wrap it up in aluminum foil and tuck it in your shirt. I am not sure I'd want to be that proud and standing out in a crowd. Did ya hear 'bout the lady stuck her hand under a mans kilt, pulled it out quickly and said to her friend 'that's grusome"
when the man turned to her and said stick you hand in there again lady it just grew some more.

I have a tie with white sheep all over it and one black one right in the middle.

as a Scot who's never worn a kilt, I can't speak from experience but most of those who have tell me it is actually very comfortable; and convenient in conveniences. I like the pun in the title too, perhaps Wallace's kilt wasn't quite as comfortable as Mel's. Seriously, I like the way you have of finding inspiration anywhere,

Coming from you as a quality "serious" poet, I am especially touched by your response.

I'm sure the kilt is comfortable, I too have never worn one.

For the life of me I wish I could remember the comments of ladies on a New York pavement as I walked a few yards behind a proudly-swinging betartanned bum quite a few years back. I do recall that NY wit was at its saltiest tho.
