COME DO THE CHRISTMAS DANCE WITH ME!
By Pami Jane Tennant
12/14/07

MAY I HAVE THE PLEASURE OF THIS DANCE?
SHAKE YOUR TUSHY, THROW YOUR HANDS HIGH
ROCK AND ROLL, SAMBA, LIFT YOUR FEET AND PRANCE!
GIVE A GIGGLE WITH YOUR JIGGLE, SMILE AND SIGH...
LET YOUR JOY IN THE SPIRIT FLY HIGH IN THE SKY!

DANCE WITH CYMBALS AND BERIBBONED TAMBOURINES
LIFT HEARTS AND VOICES IN PRAISE FOR THE ANCIENT OF DAYS
FOR THE GIFT OF REJOICING IN HIS AWESOME SCHEMES
GIVING US HIS ONLY SON WITH HIS LOVE AND MERCIFUL WAYS
TO FORGIVE AND SAVE US WITH HIS LIFE, OH LET US PRAISE!

DANCING IN JOY AND SINGING HIS PRAISE IN SWEET LOVE
IS PLEASING TO HE THAT SACRIFICED SO MUCH FOR MANKIND
ALL HE WANTS IS OUR LOVE, OUR ALMIGHTY FATHER ABOVE
SO COME LET US ADORE HIM, WITH ALL OUR MIGHT AND MIND
GIVE HIM YOUR ALL AND LEAVE EVERYTHING ELSE BEHIND!

MERRY CHRISTMAS FATHER GOD, AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY
MY LORD JESUS! WHENEVER IT WAS IN OUR HISTORY
MY GIFT TO YOU IS MY LOVE AND MYSELF IN EVERY WAY
I SING OF YOUR GREAT LOVE, YOUR POWER AND GLORY
AND EVERY CHANCE I'M GIVEN I LOVE TO TELL YOUR STORY!

Hello LP,

I have this thing about centering - leave it to Carlton Cards.

Otherwise, I'm getting my dancing flippers on.

Merlin

ps - Happy Birthday, too.

And I have this other thing about all caps. I'm having trouble getting past the formatting enough to offer critique. Let your words speak for themselves, Pami -- you don't have to dress them up in buttons and bows.

Merry Christmas.

Mary

I'm so sorry Mary, it just so happens that both my bi carpal tunnel syndrome and my fibromyalgia were killing me when I wrote this...so it was one or the other...beg pardon.
Thanks for the crit.

Pami xoxo

Hi Pami...

I wondered where you were...glad to see you back...I am in the middle of a lot of things...my daughter has been ill, and we are getting adjusted to that, plus I bought a condo in the same area I am living in now..Plus, waiting to pack everything until after Christmas and also having company for a week...no time to post lately.

I am dancing in spirit with you...it would be just as powerful without the caps, but either way it is a joyous dance.

((((hugs))))) Judi

No apology necessary, Pami. Your poem, your choice. I hope you're feeling better.

Hi Pami!
I waited until our southern hemisphere heatwave gave us a breather, to get back to MM. I'm all melted, and you guys are all frozen...haha...

Jolly poem, can't keep my feet still, even tho' I also have FM. I agree with the others about the centering and caps, but never mind, diversity in poetry is as important as in Nature. Keep 'em coming, Pami dear!!

Hugs, Sylvia

The Lord replied, my precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.

"There is no life higher than the grasstops
Or the hearts of sheep, and the wind
Pours by like destiny, bending
Everything in one direction."

Sylvia Plath, Crossing the Water, Wuthering Heights.

Glad you made it through forty-seven. Something to dance and sing about. Watch out for the last ten percent.
