In Search of a Christmas Prayer
I’ve gone a wassailing with friends so dear, in search of a prayer herald angels would sing. We’ve traveled so long on this weary road, will we be alert, when Christmas bells ring?
Will we hear glorious angels sing on high, when our depleted souls pause to sleep? Will Ancient splendors fling this grand year, when our bodies crave rewarding eats?
Will bright lights and mistletoe be our greeting, when we step through the door of a stranger? Will our voices carry the message of peace, when we sing tidings of joy for the manger?
Will yuletide treasures fill a bustling shelter, when the homeless abandon their street? Will Santa’s helpers join in the chorus, when boughs of holly, encompass their beat?
Will a wonderful life befall just one, when a prayer seems so out of reach? Will shepherds guard and angels sing, when the spirit of Christmas, we’ll teach?
Will children listen, while treetops glisten, when no presents or sleigh bells are found? Will they wake with the dawn of redeeming grace, when their Saint Nick ne’er touched solid ground?
Hark! The herald angels sing... Sleep in heavenly peace.

Hi again Cleo,
This one is very nice, though I'm not a great fan of snippets.
You have created a wonderful poem.
