I Watched the Snowflakes

I sat out in my hot tub to watch the snow flakes fall,
out of moon lit clouds, they came down for hours.
there were fine tiny flakes that went zipping by
playing tag on the mild breeze that turned into a twisted zephyr.

But the ones I enjoyed the most
were the huge fluffy ones that circled and skated
figures like ice champions in air.
And as they drifted closer,
they were like tiny ice palaces.
Carved with diamonds and crystal,
strung with pearls and tears drops.

I imagined them peopled with fairy folk,
and visiting elves all dressed in evening gowns.
While waltzes and other music's played they danced,
Partied and played.

The next flake that passed was a castle, with columns
of buttressed curves and filial frail wisps spun up in towers
crenulated with flags flying high.

Thousands of flake passed by and I in my dreamland
winter fantasy wandered thru them all.
