Hello all! wave.gif

Here at MM, we offer differing levels of membership based on a few factors: Number of posts, (length of) inactivity on MM and staff designation.

What are Member Groups you ask?

Member groups are defined as Members, Moderators, Administrators and Guests and which forums they can read, start new topics and make replies to.

Here at MM, we have 8 member groups:
  1. Awaiting Authorization
  2. Bronze Member: inactive for at least 180 days
  3. Silver Member: less than 50 posts
  4. Gold Member: greater than 50 posts/Sanctuary qualifier/Can edit topic titles
  5. Platinum Member: Same as Gold with the distrinction of site supporter (through monetary donations)
  6. Centurion: Staff Member
  7. Praetorian: Staff Moderator
  8. Administrator: Site Administrator
To accomodate our members who are eligible to post in our adult-themed forum, Shambhalan Sanctuary, located in the 'Adult Works ~ Pendragon's Prudence' Category,  the Gold Member level must be achieved.

The Administrators manage rank changes.

If you have any questions, please ask or reply in this tile. We appreciate yout feedback!

Thank you!

Collaboration feeds innovation. In the spirit of workshopping, please revisit those threads you've critiqued to see if the author has incorporated your ideas, or requests further feedback from you. In addition, reciprocate with those who've responded to you in kind.

Hello. woodstock.gif

Just to keep everyone updated, we've made a few changes to the 'permissions' in our Bronze member group. These are the items that differenciate this member group from the others. In addition to having an 'inactive' status for at least 180 days, the following change in permissions is effective immediately:

Can email members from the board? No
Can use PM system? No
Allow PM attachments? No
Can edit own posts? No
Allow user to remove 'Edited by' legend? No
Can delete own posts? No
Can open/close own topics? No
Can edit own topic title & description? No
Can delete own topics? No
Can start new polls (where allowed)? No
Can vote in polls (where allowed)? No
Can avoid flood control? No
Can avoid moderation queues? No
Can post HTML? No
Can bypass the bad word filter? No

One of the driving forces behind this change is a recent issue with non-participating members making complaints that we were 'spamming' them. Well, that is obviously not true, and besides, there is a feature in the control panel to 'not allow emails from the board admin' - all that is required is a simple OPT OUT (uncheck that box). However, due to this issue, we felt it necessary to restrict the email and PM permissions from this member group. In addition, going forward, when we DO send out board admin emails, this member group will not be included.

Any member who returns for participation can easily be upgraded to a "participating member status". Once we see them active again, we can upgrade their group for them so they can enjoy all the benefits our forum offers.

If you have any questions, please inquire.
Regards
