Our stud is in the regional lockdown, all equine movement is banned . We have an outbreak of equine influenza that has come in from overseas. Before this our equine population was virus free. The virus can be be transmitted air borne up to eight kilometres, can live away from its host for up to 76 hours, we are more wondering 'when' rather than 'if'. It is traveling like wildfire. We have canceled all seminars and naturally we do not have any outside mares coming in to be served. Ah such is life, but to date we are still luckier than most, the stud is not our primary source of income.
Hopefully I will return more actively soon.
Regards,
Jax

Wow Jan, I really must check in on world news. I had no idea. 4 days to be sure if virus-free doesn't seem too long, but I'm sure it must be devastating to breeders and farmers. When will you get the nod that the stud service can resume? Most importantly, glad it isn't dampening your spirit or income. Lori
