The Drombeg Collection

Your Ring

(NEVER ENDING CIRCLE)

your ring
slipped your finger
and dropped to the tiled floor
ringing tunefully, like distant
church bells

church bells
sombrely toll
on a bell-clear morning
your arms enfold my broken frame.
I am wearing
your ring

Drom Beag

enduring circle
capturing  Solstice sunrise;
mystic enigma

Beyond Man's Meagre Span

sacred
rays warm ancient
faithful soldiers, guarding
inner sanctum from ravages
of time.

Midsummer's Eve

fingers
of Solstice light
bend on the horizon,
spartan guards stand vigilant in
twilight

The Lord replied, my precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.

Or the hearts of sheep, and the wind
Pours by like destiny, bending
Everything in one direction."

"What could have made her peaceful with a mind
That nobleness made simple as a fire,
With beauty like a tightened bow, a kind
That is not natural in an age like this,
Being high and solitary and most stern?
Why, what could she have done, being what she is?
Was there another Troy for her to burn?"
WB Yeats "No Second Troy"

Hello Lucie, sun.gif

Thank you so much for your gracious words.  I think this challenge brought out the best in everyone.  All deserve to be winners.

I think these challenges are great fun. It never ceases to amaze me the way so many different viewpoints are  brought together by a solitary theme.
I love coming here to read and get inspiration. Read.gif  laugh.gif
