Hello members of Mosaic Musings!  pumpkin.gif  pilgrim.gif  turkey.gif

Autumn is here and I'd like to start offering 'tips' to our members on how to best utilize our forum board (if you so choose).

First, would you like to receive an email of topics that you'd be interested in getting updates on? It's simple if you follow this tip below!
[*]Go into a topic you'd like to receive email topic reply notifications on.
[*]In the bottom left hand corner just underneath the topic itself (if no replies yet) or at the bottom of the last reply, you'll see three link choices:
[ Track this topic :: Email this topic :: Print this topic ]
simply click on the link labeled, Track this Topic.
[*]The Topic Tracker will be in place for 60 days from the date you selected each one individually.
[*]To see which topics you are tracking, go into your CONTROL PANEL, and then into the TOPIC TRACKER menu header.
[*]For any topic subscriptions in place, a list will appear with a days left column to the far right. I have set the number of days to default at 60. You should periodically check your control panel as they do expire after 60 days have elapsed.
[*]Once the 60 days have passed, should you wish to still receive topic notifications, you will need to back into your topics of choice and select the 'Track this topic' link again.
[*]To cancel any topic subscriptions, utilize your CONTROL PANEL again, go into the Topic Tracker list and click on the cancel link for each individual topic you no longer wish to receive notices on.
[*]I prefer to track entire forums as the Admin, which you can also subscribe to if you wish. Go into a forum and at the bottom, you'll see a link "track this forum" which will do the same as tracking individual posts but be warned that if you use this feature, you will get a notification on EVERY post in that forum.

Second, you can change your board skin here at MM! Here at Mosaic Musings, our members have a choice of how they wish to view our forum board. We call these layouts, "skins" and offer (8) for their choosing. All 'skins' operate in the same manner, only the fonts, colors and sizing differ.
[*]To change a 'skin', simply go into your control panel, into the tab labeled, 'Account Options'. From there, you'll see a pull down menu titled, Board 'Skin'. You may choose a 'skin' to use. This will change the way the board looks.
[*]Select from the choices one of the skin names, like Nemesis, or Blue Vile for example, and then click the 'Change my Account Options' button.

This will now change your skin default when logged into MM. Why not experiment with different looks? You can easily change the skins anytime you are logged in! Have fun! I have started a POLL to receive feedback on which skins our members use most, so stay tuned here: http://forums.mosaicmusings.net/cgi-bin....&t=2716

Last, our Awards. We at Mosaic Musings like to recognize our members talents with various award designations. Here is a brief overview of our current award structure:
[*]Pandora's Chaos  - given twice-monthly (by member vote) based on challenges provided in Mount Olympus. A red badge is displayed with the members avatar as well as the award in the member profile page and on the tile itself. All winning tiles are posted in The Great Wall of Fame forum as well.

[*]Member Choice - given monthly by member selection polling vote. A yellow badge is displayed with the members avatar as well as the award in the tile itself. All winning tiles are posted in The Valley of the Kings forum as well.

[*]Crown Jewel - given by nomination. A tile that exemplifies structure and captures an emotional bond by the reader will be designated Crown Jewel. All winning tiles are posted in The Valley of the Kings forum as well.

[*]Faery - given by nomination. A tile that tickles the reader's muse will be designated Faery. All winning tiles are posted in The Valley of the Kings forum as well.

[*]Laureate’s Legion (Spotlight Writers of MM)

Will you rise the ranks to become a 'Laureate Legionnaire' - those members who've demonstrated excellence in writing, collaboration and popularity?  To qualify, you must have a combined minimum of (5) awards (Wizard, Pandora's Chaos, Member Choice, Faery or Crown Jewel). Will you add your name to the 'Laureate's Legion'? Good luck!

"It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step into the Road, and if you don't keep your feet, there is no knowing where you might be swept off to." ~ J.R.R Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings

Collaboration feeds innovation. In the spirit of workshopping, please revisit those threads you've critiqued to see if the author has incorporated your ideas, or requests further feedback from you. In addition, reciprocate with those who've responded to you in kind.

"I believe it is the act of remembrance, long after our bones have turned to dust, to be the true essence of an afterlife." ~ Lorraine M. Kanter

Nominate a poem for the InterBoard Poetry Competition by taking into careful consideration those poems you feel would best represent Mosaic Musings. For details, click into the IBPC nomination forum. Did that poem just captivate you? Nominate it for the Faery award today! If perfection of form allured your muse, propose the Crown Jewels award. For more information, click here!
