One Perfect Day
Just after sunset I sat exhausted on my couch, thinking that this had been one perfect day. Snowflakes were still falling gently as they had since morning when I first woke. I will give all I have to give to my family today with joy and smiles, and no complaints. We will open gifts early, all brightly wrapped and bows, nothing with strings or ribbons, as the dog likes to chew those. The young ones with visions of paradise in their eyes, listening to ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’. I’ll light one candle for remembrance to place on the table before we say Grace. I will be thankful for friends and family gathered here, and in giving love we’ll celebrate, for ‘tis the season of such.
