What Price Sanity

What price is sanity if I can find new tomorrows hiding inside my head.
Awaiting the spark of one lone cell to set it all free,
where may I be in ten years time, I don’t know nor would want to know if I could.
Tomorrows are supposed to be a surprise, but that ridge of borderline insanity keeps me on my toes always wondering if what I vision will come true or if the course of nature will take a different turn,
I am not sure if calling it insanity is correct for it may just be the effects of medication. Which ever the case may be, I don’t always enjoy the ride. For sometimes it turns down the wrong direction that leads to nightmare avenues and darkened streets I have no wish to tread. These are the places madness lurks, I have no wish to become mad. The brighter side leads to inspired poetry and short stories, which after having written them always amazes me that they came from inside my head. So what price sanity?
A very dear one indeed, just let me slip the leash now and then.
