Hi all. rainbow.gif

I've added two more country flags today to our skins. While I was in the board headers for each skin, I took the liberty of making 3 rows of 6 flags each. Merlin had mentioned recently that the prior view (2 rows of 7 flags each) would cut off the last country on the first row.

I hope this tweak allows you to now see all 18. gnome.gif

Hi Lori,

Well done - looks very good and far less crowded - plus allows for expansion. Thanks!

One thing I did noptice ages ago and keep forgetting to mention - sorry - is we seem to have lost the BBC and Wikki hyperlinks when we changed board. I have links of my own but, I think for writers, they are excellent links to have on MM. They used to be very large - I think they could be much smaller and neater but it would be a shame to lose them.

Cheers, J.

Hi J. ninja.gif

Thanks very much! I need stop assuminhg everyone uses the 1280x1024 dsiplay setting (actually I think Peter & I might be in the minority) cyclops.gif cyclops.gif I'll bet the 800x600 is most popular. gromit.gif

Actually, I never had text links for those two - just hover over their images and click. It's the same with our DONATE image as well. You'll be able to jump to them that way. Please let me know if you can't.

Cheers

Hi Lori,

Thanks for your reply.

>L> Thanks very much! I need stop assuminhg everyone uses the 1280x1024 dsiplay setting (actually I think Peter & I might be in the minority) :cyclops: :cyclops: I'll bet the 800x600 is most popular.

Sorry, you've lost me - what has screen size to do with it? Proportionally, the images would be the same wouldn't they?

FYI: My screen is set to 1,024 x 768 - which, apart from 800x600 is the only setting my monitot (TFT/LCD) can handle. In fact, I cannot select another resolution unless I change display adapters and then the result is grot.

>L> Actually, I never had text links for those two - just hover over their images and click. It's the same with our DONATE image as well. You'll be able to jump to them that way. Please let me know if you can't.

I'm lost here again - I see no links, text nor image. No we don't need text hyperlinks but the images disappeared too. They used to be under the dictionary and steggy / rhyme links.

Now I have those dictionary/steggy/rhyme links then a rectangular plain box then a rectangular "donate" box. The latter is a hyperlink; the plain box is not - but it does occupy the place the BBC and Wikki links used to was.

FYI: I'm using "Mosaic Lo-Fi" skin.

Make sense?

Thanks Lori,

Cheers, J.

While the size of the images would stay the same, thescreen size affects the width and how wide the images go horizontally across. If you don't have your window maximized, the images tend to scrunch on top of one another.

Yes, when you use Lo-Fi, it eliminates all images (and looks more like an outline) and since I have the items underneath the main body of the forum as 'image-driven', you will not see them. If you click back to the 'full version', you will see them and should be able to hover over them. In Lo-Fi mode, aren't the last forums you see the showcase ones? Canyou send me an image of what you see please?

Which browser are you using? It might be the browser not displaying correctly too.

Regards!
Lori

Hi Lori,

I didn't realise skins had Lo-Fi / Hi-fi available. I'll search for a Hi-Fi.

Yes, the last forums I see are the showcases; I didn't realise they were not the last. Will look at that, too.

Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0.5346.5 (the new Beta version due to be incorporated in the next generation of Windows, I believe) - so if it is committing an error then I should report it.

I'll amend this post if I find Hi-Fi and have results.

Thanks Lori.

Update!

Apparently I was using the Hi-Fi version - the label at the bottom of the screen says "Lo Fi Version" but it is incorrect; if I click it I see just a text version. It must mean "switch to lo-fi" I read it as "This is Lo-Fi".

Hi Lori,

The board default is alway Full Version (when you can see the background and all images on each page. The Lo[Fi version is meant for those who have slow connections and can't handle the image load time (a novel idea if you ask me). book.gif The Lo-Fi wording is actually a hyperlink to put you into Lo-Fi mode (which is a white page only with links everywhere).

Yes, the last forums I see are the showcases; I didn't realise they were not the last. Will look at that, too.
I meant that with the Lo-Fi version, you won't see anything below the showcases (so none of my board footer html codes I added on the page. No ryhmezone or BBC stuff. Instead, you'll see:
This is a "lo-fi" version of our main content. To view the full version with more information, formatting and images, please click here.

It's meant for you to click on to 'switch' you over to Lo-Fi view. wallace.gif

Yes, you were using Full View all along, LOL! Please DO report the bug to IE beta. Here is what it looks like on IE6.0 and also in Firefox.

Cheers

Thanks very much, indeed, Lori.

Curiosier and curiosier (as ws said).

Ok, I'll check a few security settings (I have them screwed-down tightly - e.g. all cookies banned (session included), save from known sites, no pop-up windows allowed etc etc - but they should not affect this) and if they don't work, I'll report it.

Thanks for all your help. Sorry to be a nuisance.

Glad to see those links still there, though. Apologies for my incorrect assumption / conclusion.

Thanks Lori.

J.
