Spring on us…
The spring is coming; soon we will march forth on wet and thawing soil that shouts 'March forth!'
It's bulbs and bushes green... their flow'rs march forth. It seems to happen every year... March 4th.
© MLee Dickens'son March 4th 2007
Note: This was a bit of doggerel that I created yesterday as part of what has come to be a family tradition since I did a 'paraphrase' of one of Churchill's famous terse speeches, "Go on" ---> substituting the words "March Forth" within a message that I gave in chapel at the school my children then attended... in two different years on March 4th. Years later I started calling up my girls on March 4th to sing or read or chant to them some reminder of that embarrassment each of them felt when I did my 'performance.'
Above is yesterday's ditty that I sprang on them.
And here's Churchill's speech:
Go on, go on, go on, go on; go on, go on, go on!
Go on, go on, go on, go on; go on, go on, go on!
Now try to imagine me DRAMATICALLY perorming that, pointing my finger, nearly shouting in the middle, using the words, March forth instead... and you can taste a bit of my children's feeling.... and by the way, their peers always remember the incident(s) with a smile! ;D

Hi DAniel.
I'm a bit dumbfounded here?
Didn't you read my comment in your post in this forum yesterday?
In any event, I am locking this topic as you just posted one yesterday. I'll check to see if your comments to other's works has been met, but minimally, this will remain a locked topic until tomorrow as per forum rules.
Regards Lori
P.S. Yes, I've just confirmed that you've made 10 replies to other's works since my request late yesterday, so that part of the requirement has been met - this will be unlocked tomorrow.

QUOTE (Cleo_Serapis @ Mar 6 07, 08:15 ) This topic is now open - thanks Daniel! Thanks, Lori... and as you had later realized, I had done more than the required commenting (but nowhere near the amount I'd like to do!)... but in the process of doing it, totally forgot about having to wait a day to post another. I'm so sorry for the mixup... and I think you for your spirit and forgiveness. deLighting to share, always, Daniel
