Dream Waves
As seas of slumber surge on me I drift into a timeless world where hope prevails, oblivious to squalls of frantic wails that haunt my day. Depression starts to lift, as hostage thoughts, in dead-reefs of my mind, begin to float away. The surf embalms -- relieves all daytime stresses. There is calm enough to let my consciousness unwind into that land of fantasy, where dreams become reality. I rest assured of respite while my spirit’s ills are cured; caressed with peace, my mind may cease its screams.
When tides recede I wake refreshed to cope with day’s dilemmas; life renewed with hope.

Hi Snow
An interesting poem, looking at how sleep and calms you and relieves stress. How dreams take you into fantasy away from the agitation of the day.
I never seem to have pleasant dreams and my mind tends to reel just as much during sleep as when awake, often churning around with images from the day. The other night after spending time playing with Lori's new test message boards, pictures of them were going around in my head while I was sleeping. I have nightmares as well.
Thanks for the read, I'm pleased sleep restores you and refreshes you.
Nina

Hi Snow,
Calgon, take me away! lol
The stresses just melt away, this is so peaceful and calming. Wonderful way to end the day.
As seas of slumber surge on me I drift into a timeless world where hope prevails, Sounds like a wonderful place! oblivious to squalls of frantic wails that haunt my day. Depression starts to lift, as hostage thoughts, in dead-reefs of my mind, I keep wanting to say, 'hostage thoughts, caught in dead-reefs of my mind,' ... begin to float away. The surf embalms -- a cocoon of soothing moisture ...*smiles* relieves all daytime stresses.
Oh, if only it were this easy! lol Lovely poem!

Nina Hi Nina
I used to have nightmares, but these days I hardly ever remember my dreams. I enjoy the nice dreams I remember, and try not to wake up, so that they will continue.
I never seem to get enough sleep, but usually feel refreshed afterwards (unfortunatley this feeling doesn't always last for long.) I must get to bed earlier.

Snow... I loved the alternating rhyme scheme and yes relaxing into a good nites sleep can refresh you for the day, unless of course your like Nina and have restless thoughts and night mares.... I have good and bad dreams, but i think that is just the mind working through what ever thoughts it strays across.... I also take a lot of ambien becuase i can't get to sleep some nights...all part and parcel of my illness, but I keep pluggging away. I really did enjoy this muchly... lol thanks for sharing. Steve

I do sympathise that you cannot get to sleep. I usually get to slep ok, but if I wake up in the night -- that's when I get trouble getting off again.
I'm glad you enjoyed this one, .
