Hi
I am a reading specialist--have been teaching for 35 years (gasp). I live in Northern Virginia, about eight miles from the White House. I have two grown sons and a wonderful hound mix dog named Dubi.
I have been writing poetry since I was a child. I look forward to posting on MM. I believe that I can best improve my craft by working with these kinds of boards.

Hello Ann and WELCOME TO MM! Newbie.gif PartyFavor.gif Balloons.gif

So glad to see you able to post now, you'll only need to use our standard URL now going forward: http://forums.mosaicmusings.net or you can also jump from our home pages to at mosaicmusings.net. What a neat name for a dog! As a teacher, I'm sure you'll have lots of 'tips' to share with us! grinning.gif I finally broke down and bought the 'Writer's Digest Grammar Desk Reference' hardcover Friday - haven't read it yet though, LOL! upside.gif

We offer honest, yet friendly feedback in our workshopping forums so I do hope you'll find yourself at home here, once you settle into your own groove-thing and start interacting. odie.gif There are many members here with different skill levels and technique, which makes MM more comfortable, diverse and challenging if you become so inclined in your poetic journey. sings.gif cheer.gif

Please wander our halls, take in our colorful 'tiles' and join in the fun. hsdance.gif Idea.gif If you would be so kind, one of the first things we ask is to share a bit of your goals with us. What type of poetry do you enjoy writing most and are there certain forms you often write in? Shall I assume the level of critique you would like to receive on your topics is 'mild' to start?

Each forum has its own 'forum participation rules' posted in a link at the top of the forums, so please have a read of them. Here is a link to our mission statement: http://forums.mosaicmusings.net/index.php?showtopic=8574 .

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me or any of our staff (AMETHYST, Cathy, Eisa, JLY, Arnfinn and Imhotep). rose.gif margarita.gif mm.gif mm.gif

Hello Ann,

Welcome to MM! It will be a pleasure to share words, ideas and feedback from and with you! I am always in need of a punctuation patrol person to sweep around my writing and get it (as close to acceptable as anyone can) LOL -

You will find many places to read poetry at all levels and even short stories. There are many areas for challenges and inspirational threads to stir up the muse - and along with these magnificent places reside ... new friendships and a support system just waiting to share with you!

Enjoy getting to know everyone and I look forward to getting to know you!

Best Regards, Liz

PS Any questions or direction, don't hestitate to give a shout either in a thread or Private Message...

Hello, Ann,

And a belated welcome to MM. I've been away so I'm sorry I missed your arrival. I already feel I will learn more from you than I could help you with. I look forward to reading your work.
