Hi Lori,
So you hide in this corner to write youthful poems.
My favourite is Little girl Green.

Wrote a Work of Stories
Wrote a work of stories, a novel filled with pride; Four and fifty pages pressed in its hide!
When the book was opened the tales were read this way; Was not that a skillful tale to learn and then to say?
The author picked a myth of old to bring to life once more; The audience was reading fairy fables sent from yore.
The crits were often given, careful of the grade; echoing the masters, whence fairy tales were made.

Danny Dealer
Danny Dealer dealt a deck of deadbeat dreamers; A deck of deadbeat dreamers Danny Dealer dealt; If Danny Dealer dealt a deck of deadbeat dreamers, where’s the deck of deadbeat dreamers Danny Dealer dealt?

Little Girl Green
Little Girl Green come plant your bloom the sun is shining bright, the dirt’s in its tomb;
Where is the girl who tends flowers and turf? She’s picking out weeds, ground in earth.
Fill the seedlings in their place, watch the flowers, spring up with grace.

I'm trying to decide which of these I like best!! I was going to say the third one, as I've been gardening today but I really like the first one, and I'm still trying to get my tongue around Danny Dealer!! What a clever tongue twister!!
These are all brilliant, and I think the first one is my favourite, especially the last stanza. The rhyming and structures are so clever
I've really enjoyed these:)

QUOTE (Alan @ April 26 2004, 02:19) ..... and a lovely set of poems from Mother Serapsis' Nursery Rhymes .....
Why thank you Alan!
I always find it a fun challenge to 'mimic' other's works. It's a good learning technique too!
Thanks for stopping by! :farmer:
