Leaves, like fans in a stadium,
rise and fall, clapping wildly, moving as a wave within the crowd. Sporting orange and yellow jackets, these tree dressers flippantly flap, raising their banners skyward. High winds declare victory, winning weather for a brand new day. ©jtl ·······  ······· |

Jan,
after that tremendous wind storm we had on the east coast last week, this poem just fits the bill. A wind blown mosaic blizzard was happening. Love the use of the stadium multi-colored fans. The leaves are all down and gone now. Wait til next year. Larry

Sporting orange and yellow jackets, these tree dressers flippantly flap, raising their banners skyward. Delightful alliteration 'flippantly flap'. Utterly charming High winds declare victory, winning weather for a brand new day. What a refreshing wind! It blew all the cobwebs away for me this morning. The brevity is perfect. I imagined one of those sudden very strong gusts of wind that take you by surprise. Full of wonderful movement. Thank you for the read.  Love Grace
