Hi all.

With regard to images in use at the Mosaic, I must set out these reminders;
[*]Images fall into the 'copyright rules' category and need to be used carefully with that in mind. The images you will find here at the Mosaic are either my own (like the avatars) from purchased software, or used with permission by the original creators.
[*]Please only post those images you will find here (or at our home page in the postcards section) or ones that you have received permission on.
[*]Images not of my own purchasing will be notated with the author's name (and URL if available), giving them honorable credit for their fine work.
[*]I'd like to keep a copy of the 'given permission' on file whenever we may be using images from other sites.
[*]The images that I am using at the Mosaic are ONLY to be used at the Mosaic in return.
[*]NO images can be copied, reproduced, linked to or resold (you guys know the blurb from the copyright page) here at the Mosaic without our express written permission (outside of this site).

Any questions, let me know!
Regards!

Hi,

I'm glad that Cleo has mentioned this. The webmasters (as well as the individuals concerned) are open to proceedings if copyright is broken. It is only fair of us to play fair because of this alone. However, think also how vexed you would be if someone simply "stole" your writing to place it elsewhere. You would be justifiably annoyed. The people who own the copyrighted images feel the same!

To give examples from my postings, I have always credited the website and provided a link there. I have never reproduced a complete piece of writing - just extracts. (The one exception is a translation from Welsh to English but the original was out of copyright. Nevertheless, I still credited the translator and mentioned where her books  could be bought). I have copied over one image - the red dragon on a green and white background (i.e. The Welsh Flag) - which is the main representative symbol of Wales and not even  England has yet had the cheek to copyright that!

So I think we must all take this sort of extreme caution. I might sound perfect; I'm most certainly not! I have made mistakes in the past and am well aware of the possible consequences; I write from experience, not superiority!

Toodle Pip! Jox.
