Hi everyone,
It's been a while and a few hurricanes since I've been here, but after Lori recently emailed me, I decided I have some spare time I can dig up and I've really missed you all.
Let's see. I've been blessed with two more grandchildren, even though I look 35, lol! That makes 7 grandkids, lucky-lucky me. I've written a bunch of short stories that I need to have fine-tuned. I've begun a novel called, Snake Eyes and I've written more poems.
My schedule is a busy one as I still have a teen son at home to bring to greatness and a husband who is also a poet. Oh yes, did I mention we've adopted 5 darling dogs from the pound? :gromit:
I will have to take some time to re-navigate this beautiful site, but you can expect me to post and crit soon.
Gosh, I've missed these great smileys!
Please fill me in on what all of you have been up to. I hope there's still some mischief running about, lol!
Aurora

Well, welcome back......and it's about time too ! ~laugh~ Sorry, just couldn't resist a little tease. I've only returned myself a few short months ago. Was gone much too long. Itis nice being back among friends, and even nicer to welcome you home ! You've been very busy it would seem.....grandchildren, dogs, novel, short stories. Can't wait to see some of the new things you have written. See you out and about in the forums..... Marcia

A warm welcome back, Angie. :sun:
It's so nice to hear from you again! I DO believe you'll like what we've done with MM since your last post. And YES, there's more smilies too )plus some new forums (for the muse looking for a bit of jump start). :reindeer: I can't help myself there, I use the Times Ten and flash challenges to get my butt in gear! :pilgrim: :turkey2:
OK, so there's this joke going 'round about the smiles - it seems that us women writers use them more frequently here. I say, "WHY NOT?" :speechless:  :grinning: It's another form of expression and we're good at it.
It seems you've been VERY busy! :air: Congratulations on the arrival of your newest grandchildren, I had no idea you were a grandmother. I recently turned 40 and like I've told others, it's the new 30, 20. :wolf: You look 35 - you go girl! :hsdance:
We've had some more regularity in our short story forum, Stonehenge, so I do hope we'll see some of your stories soon. It just takes some of us (me, to be exact ) a little bit longer to reply since stories require more of our time and analytical mindset IMHO.
We also have a chapters forum you might want to consider too (Loch Ness) for you novel. Several of us have novels in the making actually, so perhaps some chit chat about the pros and cons of your experience may help us? I've read that one should pick a set time every day (or however often you devote to writing the novel) and stick to it. Don't write more than 3 pages (I would find that hard not to write more than that) in one sitting and don't spend more than 1 to 1.5 hours each sitting.
Now, just going by what I've read, that seems like good advice - does it fit your pattern? Did you write an outline by chapter first are you going with the characters actions to layout the flow?
Odie says 5 + me = lots of luvin'!
HUGS and stuff...

Hi Angie,
Lovely to meet you. Wow, what a fantastic family you have - amazed you get a chance to write (or does the muse help when you walk the dogs?).
Looking forward to some stories :cheer: :champagne: :rose:

Welcome back home Aurora,
Dogs, kids, grandkids, birthdays...what do you do in your spare time?
I just got a transfusion from dehydration. My battery is sparking and looking forward to your inputs. Fortunately, MM has a lot of valuable help to offer. I can't talk to you, since you are 35-years old. My wife will think I'm entering my fourth childhood. She is becoming irritated raising a 69-year old kid.
Don (no smiles for you)
