It’s time to write a Christmas poem
and not one dark and grim
like those that I have penned of late
on memory and whim.

I am a lucky living soul,
of that there is no doubt.
I have survived a host of things
I won’t now talk about.

On top of all of this I have
a family that I love
and who love me, what more could be
a gift from up above?

And Christmas time is the best time
to acknowledge what one has
and thank the Lord for giving them,
for lighting the right path.

So please accept this small bequest
and take for what it’s worth:
Merry Christmas and good will to all
who toil upon this earth.

Another wonderful entry! This one is good for Thanksgiving, too. There is never a bad time to give thanks for what we've been given.(especially our families) However, the holidays certainly bring it to our minds more readily. As we give to those who have so much less, we cannot help but take stock of our own lives.....
God Bless you. I really do love both your entries.
Marcia

"...We are born into the world like a blank canvas
and every person that crosses our path takes up the brush and makes their mark upon our surface.
So it is that we develop.
But we must realize there comes a day that we must take up the brush and finish the work. For only we can determine if we are to be just another painting or a masterpiece..."
