A Christmas Poem

(Warning - no doubtedly cliche and reads like something my mom wrote but I'm trying to redeem my naughty behavior!  Afterall, Christmas is coming and I don't wanna stocking full of coal.  I NEED MY CHOCOLATE!!!! xmas.gif  )

Twinkling stars dot the sky so deep;
watchful shepherds guard their precious sheep.
Away in a manger, a child is born
to heal this world - broken and torn.

A priceless gift, this child will give -
sacrifice His life so we may live.
The sins of humanity, His soul will bear
so we can reclaim being God's rightful heirs.

An innocent child, an innocent man -
willingly suffered and died to fulfill God's plan.
He overcame death, victoriously arose;
out of love, with freewill, this destiny He chose.

I'm getting a bit of deja vu here! LOL!  Well, you said you wanted 39 more entries!  It may not be quality, but I'm good a spewing forth mediocrity and can easily help you obtain your goal! LOL!  Beware what you wish for! LOL!

Big Hugs,
B.

Hi Nef

A timely reminder of the religious roots of Christmas so easily forgotten in the commercial madness of the season.

Good luck with the competition.

This poem has a lot of redeeming value, but I have to root for Mrs. Claus. ~laugh~ Seriously, this was a lovely reminder of the reason for the season. A timeless Christian message.

"...We are born into the world like a blank canvas
and every person that crosses our path takes up the brush and makes their mark upon our surface.
So it is that we develop.
But we must realize there comes a day that we must take up the brush and finish the work. For only we can determine if we are to be just another painting or a masterpiece..."

Now this is what Christmas is about. The true reasons of our celebration, to give homage for our very own lives we live--there is nothing more comforting than to know, we've been given God's blessings and Christmas is our way of celebrating such a gift.

Awe, thank you, Ladies!  So not too trite or cliche? Well, even so, I guess it gets the point across.  And since Lori's still low on entries, I guess I'd better get working on my "Redneck Holdiay!" I'm sure with that I'll lose any redemption this one may have granted me! LOL!

Big hugs,
B.
