It was Christmas
Although it was Christmas, the elves that fine day decided to strike for more holiday pay. They had enough eggnog and candy cane soup but figured on throwing big Santa this loop: they would picket the reindeer and not load his sleigh. When Mama Claus heard what was causing this fray, she piled high the bratwurst and kraut on her tray and into their workshop she went with a whoop – It was Christmas! Most elves began clapping – some started to play, one grabbed his old squeezebox, one scratched his toupee, then all settled down in one civilized group to bratwurst and sauerkraut, scoop after scoop. Each elf by himself felt that life was okay. It was Christmas. ·······  ······· |
