The Manger

Shepherds gather 'round the manger
led there by a shining star.
Angel choirs echo sweetly,
heard by many near and far.

Mary gently strokes her baby,
as she holds Him to her breast.
Weak and tired from her journey,
soon she will lay down to rest.

All who gather 'round the infant,
kneel before God's holy son.
Joyful wonder fills their beings,
knowing their Messiah has come!

Joseph gazes at the infant,
and a peace he's never known,
fills his heart because he's chosen
to raise the Christ child as his own!

Though the years bring death
and sadness, naught but joy
on earth that night.
Little Jesus in His manger,
holding Mary's finger tight!

Dear Judi;

As a father, this verse is very endearing.

Joseph gazes at the infant,
and a peace he's never known,
fills his heart because he's chosen
to raise the Christ child as his own!

Thanks for a warm beginning of what is sure to become a very special Christmas season here at MM.
