on seduction and boobs

confusion, gluttony, a high-speed drive
nine-millimeter hand gun, violence
more shots, a bloody wreck on 95
arrested rapist claiming innocence

a closed community, a run-down tract
paid slaves who don't wear chains, their callous boss
conspiracy, world capitols attacked
a homeless man who eats what others toss

malicious gossip and adultery
a little slander and dishonesty
a sultry glance, a wink, dark mystery
the office clan, a corporate dynasty

Ah, paranoia, fear, anxiety
that daily stalk me .... Thank God for TV!

Dear Daniel,

Considering your title, you have managed to write a totally clean poem. Amazing. On the title alone I was for the first time having doubts about you - thought you might be more like me than I'd thought.

Anyway, I agree completely with the last 2 lines.

Love
Alan

How could I resist rushing to open this? Has Daniel decided to bare his id? Would that be a wise move?
But aha! - Breathe a sigh of relief.
A telling flick through the evening's typical TV offerings.
But you kept me guessing to the end.
Great fun,
Hugs,
Leo

Daniel,
Of course your title caught my attention then when I read it, it is reality come to life. Your take on the current newsmakers in the world points out the depravity in man and socieity and it is something we need to focus on and not run away from it.

Your first lines have an opening salvo that is well written and of course very close to home here in the Northeast...

confusion, gluttony, a high-speed drive
nine-millimeter hand gun, violence
more shots, a bloody wreck on 95
arrested rapist claiming innocence

Well done view of the current state of affairs.

JLY

Hi Daniel,

Didn't know what to expect; what with your sense of humor and all and was pleasantly surprised to find a very laudable denunciation of the "boob-tube" in a very precise sonnet in IP. All this with a nice bit of ironic sarcasm for the punctuation mark at the end.

Well done and well said.

Larry

When power leads man toward arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the areas of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of his existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
