Yes, this is true. I think we've all had a time in our lives when love hurts (pardon the expression). Wounds can be thick or thin but can leave deep impressions on our souls.
I would suggest putting a semi-colon after 'wound'.
If you were to write two Hai(na)ku together, the second one could be the opposite reflection - with regard to that expression: love can heal all (some) wounds. written with the 3 words first, then 2 then 1 like (just playing with this):
Love
can wound;
proceed with caution
