Our 42nd NJ Thanksgiving

turkey
this Thanksgiving
won't be about stuffing
our bird with bread and celery
or drifting off to sleep with memories
of the parsonage, half-way house,
unexpected move to Bridgeton,,,
but mortgage in Vineland;
we'll be talking
turkey

we've found
being frugal
helps us fill the carcass
of our house on the property
with new beams, insulation, wiring, walls,
heat, kitchen, bathrooms and flooring;
son in the other house
may be left bills
we've found

Ooooh, well done Daniel! present.gif

What a neat way to respond, and double rictameters too.

Enjoyed this. And the truth in them. Artist.gif

Thanks so much, Lori...

and I definitely enjoyed the challenge. I've not written anything serious for many month, as I've gone through about a year of depression surrounding my lack of recovery from the four knee operations last year. I'm just now beginning to show progress, and I've been able to lose some weight.

Adding to that, as I'm sure you note, I'm greatly encouraged by the increase in the number of folks who are commenting in the critique forums. I'm now trying to visit there again myself, and I'm encouraged that some of the 'oldies' are more frequent now as well!

P.S. I'm looking forward to having the opportunity to visit with Dani at JFK tomorrow for an hour or two. It's always a blessing to be able to see some of our writing friends face-to-face, as I've had the joy of doing about a dozen times over the years!
