Spice Up That Loaf

Changes in italics -- thanks Grace.

My loaf is stale,
left in the bread bin
far too long;
forgotten --
past its
`best before date’.

I’ll get a fresh loaf
and spread
each slice
with the spice of life

-- and start to live!

Eisa,

You brought back pleasant memories of the bread bin that we had when I grew up.
Your loaf of bread is a great analogy for life.
We all need to spice up our lives in order to prevent ourselves from getting stale and boring.

Hi Eisa,

I see, since we last met, that you have transposed your real name and your MM name. Your new real name is "Snow". Most unusual - good choice!

Now, who are you buttering-up in this tasty treat? Not "jam tomorrow" any longer!

A very nice poem; I have no crits, just praise.

Also, you might try toasting the bread, buttering it and sprinkling with Demerra sugar and ground cinnamon. (Sugar and butter quantities to suit but don't skip the spice!).

A tea-time treat - whatever time of day ot night - so is the toast!

Tata for now, James.

Hi James wave.gif

You do know how to get someone's mouth watering  cloud9.gif

My name `Snow' is actually a translation of my real name which is a Welsh one ( something for your homework Read.gif )

Glad you enjoyed this -- I don't think I've written one as short before.

I'm off now to have some special toast  :pharoah2

Nice to see you back here

Hi Eisa,

Thank you for the comments.

I thought the cymraeg for "Snow" was "Eira" not "Eisa" or was the s just for MM?

Good to know that there is a part of Brum which keeps Draig flying high!

(My draig has taken a battering and needs replacing).

I shall toast you! Thanks for the good poem. Bore da!

James.

NB For others: "Draig" is Welsh ("cymraeg") for Dragon. Our national flag has the red dragon of Cymru (Wales) upon a green and white background. Wales is the only country within the UK whose national flag does not form a part of the Union Flag (Jack). Probably because the English were too scared of the power a dominating Welsh dragon would have upon the Union flag.

I can't speak Welsh - some people say I can't speak English!

I fly a scaled-down version of the National flag in my English garden :) but it needs replacing. That is, the flag.

Bore da! to everyone else, too.

peanut butter an' honey
caution to the wind

who cares about dates
when it comes to loafing?

Care fer breakfast, Snow?

Hello Eisa,  dance.gif  sings.gif  cheer.gif

I understand exactly what you are saying here my friend. A rebellion against all the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune?

Hi James

Yes -- the Welsh for snow is Eira. When MM first started Lori had some ancient names we could choose from as usernames ( what ever happened to them?) and there was Eisa or Eir which were so close to my name -- but I chose Eisa. I call myself Snow on most site though. I don't speak Welsh as I left Wales when I was about 2yrs old... but still feel Welsh -- through and through! LOL!! Where were you born then?

Keep the dragon flying then

Snow
