A Wish is Born
We place the angel on the tree, on top, for all the world to see, where presents strewn beneath the branches bring smiles. The twinkling light enhances our feelings of such happiness, so cozy, in this eve’s caress.
The fire’s lit, the child abed though he won’t sleep; he lays, instead, anticipating reindeer sounds upon the roof, where snow comes down to cover every reindeer track he’s sure are by the chimney stack.
We sit and sigh, our fingers twined together, watch the snow - remind ourselves of Eves long past, and think of futures unsurpassed with hope. A fervent wish is born, like Jesus, on tomorrow’s morn.
We wish for hate and war to cease; we wish for happiness and peace.
