Celebrations
We celebrate our Saviour's birth with every joy that's found on earth. Laden hearts burst forth with cheer when Christmas comes around each year. We light up our existence here with displays that we all hold dear. We decorate and sing with joy to honor that special infant boy. We shop at every outlet mall to buy a gift for one and all. For little ones we have Santa Claus; parties are held, we deck the halls. We honor God for the gift of Son by sharing gifts with everyone. We open our bibles and read the story. We go to church to share the glory. As joyous as our celebrations are... so much more glorious in Heaven afar; With choirs of angels and heavenly hosts; with God, the Son, the Holy Ghost. The beauty of Heaven beyond compare; the most perfect music anywhere. Voices lifted in worship and praise; knowing peace and love will fill the days. With all our loved ones near and dear we'll have fellowship and happy tears. To think we'll celebrate like this someday gives us every reason to pray today. Christmas 2006 Marcia

 This is so touching! I really enjoyed reading your poem as it brought a joyous tear to my eye.  Now THIS should be the way we remember 'celebrations'! Thanks, Lori. I was just thinking how Christmas must be an exalted holiday in Heaven and what it must be like......these thoughts led to this poem. Not much humor in it....hope it will still qualify for entry. If not, maybe it will inspire more participation. ~smile~

This is lovely. It is exactly what I needed to remind me of the traditions I so long for. Since our move to FLorida in 96, and so far from my family...the holiday's just haven't been the same. It is harder to get that spirit of Christmas without colder weather and snow ! Family being nearby is helpful, also. When we are missing all three....well we tend to go through the motions with our heart not being in it. Hope you can truly appreciate the holiday this year and heighten your enjoyment.
