QUOTE (Aphrodite @ Jan 16 07, 20:04 ) I would like to nominate this wonderful poem.
Four Old Women
Four old women down by the shore stroked by waves constant and pure. Foaming flounces fondling fat feet tickling tanned toes, under each seat.
Busy blue water poking rock places, frothy white rides stoic staircases. Salt shouted spray wafts to wet chins then sinless drips to skirts and shins. .
Creamy cascades, downy edges, dank and green draining stone ledges. Rush and tumble, down at a rate— high crescendo with loud debate. .
Women dance in the fire of sun, swollen waves run— roll, and re-run. Sheer scarped sinuate steeped shades citadels, ring, bent colonnades.
Sough the echoes, sough the sound… Hear the echoes— echoes— rebound. Hear the thunder—the mighty pound Women, feel the pound, hear the sound.
©John Macleod 2005 Hi Lindi I must thank you for this pleasant surprise. Regards, John.

Thanks Cathy. I wish you the same (and all our members who have nominations). It's too hard to choose just three. Cheers ~Cleo

Hi, Liz.
I haven't read this poem before.
Very poignant, a taste of human endurance.
Congratulations on the nomination.

QUOTE (AMETHYST @ Jan 7 07, 06:31 ) I would like to nominate New Model Fervor for the excellent handle on blank verse Form and the crisp, instinctive images. Don well done! QUOTE New Model Fervor
A phoenix rose from ash to sear my soul. The auto market plumage, end of year, December gluts the air with crisp car ploys from dealers’ bedlam sales of old and new arrival models packing showoff space.
Since funds are low from cheerful Christmas debt, the shakers hike incentive lure to buy. The vendors’ drive for “best” by slashing stock demands that suitable suitors press for less than offered lowest listed sticker prices.
A song to wing the way is engine Hemi like Odin’s eight-legged horse, Sleipnir, flew. Inferno red, like Satan, shouts rejoice. Since Devil’s road is level, smooth, and wide, I purchased Dodge with phoenix-feather glide.
© 2007, D.E. Holmes Ha, How are ya Don, This is a little beauty. Full of humour. 'Since Devil’s road is level, smooth, and wide, I purchased Dodge with phoenix-feather glide.' And why not! Congratulations mate. John

QUOTE (AMETHYST @ Dec 31 06, 14:01 ) I would like to nominate "Midnight Odyssey" The imagery and sonics through out are brilliant. The story is fresh, original and enchanting ...
Hugs, Liz
Midnight Odyssey
White dragon flies black velvet skies on silver star-kissed wing, hop-scotching cotton clouds so soft to spark a twilight fling. While soaring 'cross the heavens high he drifts near Luna Moon; he'll serenade her with a sigh... sweet lullaby to croon.
The fairie queen stands regally on wispy cirrus white, her layered skirts a-shimmering with lunar lucent light. Caress of cheek from silken hair afloat on warmest breeze, obscures the smile upon her face... she glances shy to tease.
Her ivory carriage glides up near, a twinkle in his eye, and offers her a pleasured flight across the starry sky. With graceful ease she climbs his wing to perch atop his back, delighting in fantasial sights through spheres of dapple-black.
Free-flying on those gentle winds, bestirring mists bordeaux, astride her gem-toned dragon's neck with smiling face aglow, they're seeking thrills with Nanna star who reigns supreme above ... then richly blend their voice as one to sing of Ladylove.
Their glistening playground turns to rose as night draws to its end. Aurora's winking in the dawn, soon darkness she will rend. Thus seeking out soft-pillowed clouds, a place to rest the day, repose their heads 'til dusk descends, 'twill then resume their play.
Cathy Bollhoefer~ copyright Jan2005 Hi, Cath, Hey, a fairy ballad. A childs delight, Cath. Congratulations on the nomination. John

QUOTE (Eisa @ Dec 30 06, 01:49 ) I would like to nominate this rictameter by Merlin for its originality -- wonderful word choice and especially for this unique format. Full moon and starlight glow, you reappear once more like ghosts from long ago. A smile; we touch, caress, I stroke your hair. We love. When morning sprinkles lavender across this purple plain, you disappear, full moon. Perhaps it’s not a dream. Your perfume lingers while one naughty star stays put to wink at me; it’s like some harlequin up high whose escapade on heaven’s stair lets stardust flakes cascade. Sweet melodies, perhaps.
Red haze disguises fields and fabled hills as dawn awakes. She brings veracity in crystal drops of primal rainbow dew, reciting bead by bead from one enchanted, endless string. Then sunrise fades red haze. Unique, the way you set the form for the light cycle, Eric. A truly beautiful expression of the passing of time. Congratulations, John
