Chardonnay Tears

Drop by shimmering drop,  tears accrue
within jeweled chalice; trapped by golden pain.
Oh, let thy torrent fall; ebb and flow of soul
from depths of divine despair, though fall in vain.

Droplets originate within this heart,
dwell to age ...  ferment as fine wine;
yet seem to empower promise
as dewy grapes clustered on the vine.

Forlorn hope fills sparkling goblets,
near overflow; glistened drops shall pour
a toast to thee, to vanquished paradise...
e're this vessel is shattered, to hold no more.

Thank you for your entry into Odin's Opposition!  :troy:

Perhaps you’ll rise up, drink from the Well of Wisdom and be crowned the ‘bringer of victory’?

Best of luck in the battle!  :vic:

Hi Cathy!

Congratulations!!!   I loved this piece.  :lovie:

In my mind I saw the "Lady Of The Lake", in distant Avalon.  Holding the Holy Chalice and weeping for a long ago past that was simple and pure.

The words flowed easily with a wonderful rhythm and wistfuly portrayed the hope of a glistening future.  Maybe even a blessing for mankind?

I thoughly enjoyed all of your word choices.  I could just see the effervescent tears, filling the chalice.  Made it sound as if the tears were as sparkling as champagne.  :lovie:

This was a real treat to the eyes of my imagination, as well as a treat to read aloud.  :sings:

Love ya's,
Chris  :wizard:

Hi Cathy !  :sun:

Beautiful, delicate imagery ! A real period piece, I love the progression of tears to fine wine, with the glass shattering at the end... or, in other words, the writer's heart... wow...  :cloud9:

Congrats, Cathy !
