Hello and Welcome to Mosaic Musings -
When your screen name first caught my eye, for a second I thought it was poetprncess, which is me everywhere else. Poetexpress is a very interesting name and I hope that you find Mosaic Musings to be a place to grow, learn, find new friends and become a part of our community.
Please feel free to tell us about yourself, such as how long you have been writing and a little bit about your style, as well as what your expectations are in critique and online workshopping your poetry.
Well, I will keep an eye on the forums for your work -
Best Regards, Liz

Hello poetexpress and welcome to MM!
You sure did post your intro in the right place.
Here at MM, we offer honest, yet friendly feedback in our workshopping forums. The level of critique varies from member to member based on their individual goals. It can take some time to get to know each other and what is being sought. Please do wander our halls, take in our colorful 'tiles' and join in the fun.
If you would be so kind, would you care to share a bit of your writing goals with us? What can we do to help? What style of writing to you fancy and what level of critique would you like to receive?
Please let us know if you need any guidance navigating the site or with our participation rules or other goodies we offer.
Welcome! ~Cleo/Lori

Let's see...
My "style" is rhyming? I'm not sure if you cal that "verse" or not.. I am definitely do NOT have a grasp on anything technical about poetry or writing and often don't spell well and break the "rules" of "proper" writing.
I write because things pour out of my brain - simply that and no other real reason. I have never been published. I am a prize winner for poetry contests on a site called Helium.com (I won 3 out of 4 weeks for the last annual Poetry Competition there and placed in the 4th one) and a few other small contests.
I would like to someday be: a. brave enough to go to a reading and read poetry on an open mic night (watched silently but never gone up) b. publish a work of poetry
My poetry is often strong, thick, and dark... but can change toward folly if the need arises.
That is me and -oh- on the "level" of critique desired: Let me know how to improve, be honest, but don't try to butcher me if I make a typo friends :)
Hope that helps

Hello Again,
If you have goals as publication and extending your skills as a poet; you will find many area's to learn and improve and make those dreamy goals a possibility. Along with the good people here at Mosaic Musings to lend a hand whenever you need one.
As for critique - when I first started posting to an online poetry workshop, I was exactly where you are ... I wrote what my heart and head wanted to say and knew nothing of meter, rhyme rules or techniques, line lengths for improved rhythm and I still have very poor basic grammatical skills. However, I toughened up and opened myself to critique and honesty, as well as paying attention to the guidence from those who have strong writing skills and I am proud to say I've improved 10 fold.
As of late, my inspiration is empty. But I love to read other's works and continue to learn. Feel free to start out with our Non-Critique forum "Plato's Pearls of Wisdom" for comments and do readings in the critique forums to help give you experience in both commenting on other's works and how to make the most of the responses you receive.
We all have made our starting points in much the same as you are and are always willing to taper our responses to the authors needs and requests.
I look forward to reading and working with you...
Best Regards, Liz
