Yes - I just did a test and this will work as another option:
Because I have set up most of the forum (except the Showcases) to display the posts by LAST Post in descending order, if you click on the forum name in the 'View New Posts' results instead of an actual post, when it brings you to the forum, you will now see all those little boxes to the left of each topic title (set by cookies to your id).
The topics with the boxes are the posts that have new replies (or are new posts). If you then go and click on the little box, it will bring you to your last unread post in that topic.
Please give that a try. I just tested it with 'Stonehenge'. In the view new posts list, I see that Steve replied to my post titled, "Believe". Instead of clicking on the topic, I clicked the forum. WHen it brought me into Stonehenge, I then clicked the box (goto last unread) and it brought me to Steve's post (since I had read the others previously).
Can you test this too please?
