QUOTE (Eisa @ Aug. 16 2003, 16:53)
Earth Awakes
As birds fly home to warble songs all nature stirs to life, and longs to shake off winter’s sleepy break. Springtime is here and earth’s awake.
On slender stems, exquisite leaves become the daffodils’ green sleeves. Their yellow trumpets raise to sing and herald birth of verdant spring.
Twigs new and old burst out their buds, while creatures wake and nature floods the earth with life, refreshed from sleep; bright meadow flowers start to peep.
The sun shines through a softened breeze to set the scene; I feel at ease.
Hello Eisa~
I thoroughly enjoyed your refreshing sonnet, as the imagery and lovely alliteration brings your poem to life.
I especially like this stanza:
On slender stems, exquisite leaves become the daffodils’ green sleeves. Their yellow trumpets raise to sing and herald birth of verdant spring.
Very beautiful!
In love~ Aphrodite
